Cannot think of a better butcher than this neighborhood gem hidden between Oella and Catonsville. It's just as their front sign says - "fresh killed" and fresh the meats are. Prices are higher than at Giant or other supermarkets, but the cuts and chips are really tasty and flavorful. Come here for the grilled meats in the summer and you won't go wrong. The store is not huge or big, but the variety of meats (and some fish) available will make your eyes water!!! Highly recommended.

Easily one of the best butcher shops I have ever been to. Great selection and even better quality. The service is fast and friendly and their prices are reasonable for what you get. What more could you ask for in a butcher.

JW Treuth is one of the best kept secrets in the area. Maybe not the place for a hardcore vegetarian, but for a meat eater this place is better than Disney! The freshest, tastiest and most delicious butcher shop in the area. It seems every cut of meat is available and all the staff are very knowledgeable about what is the best cut for what you want to cook. From beef, pork, lamb and chicken, they also have a great selection of fresh fish and local seafood. Fresh chicken salad and even soups and soft shell crab in the freezer. A great deli selection too. The bacon brisket is insane and great for burgers, lasagna or meatballs. Everyone is super friendly and efficient. Don't grumble about the line wrapped around the buiding on Thanksgiving and Christmas for your turkey, it really is worth it........but make sure you order it in advance. They have plenty of parking and the experience is always unique.

All the meat I have bought has been high quality. On top of that, the customer service is amazing. I would recommend this place to all that are looking for a butcher.

Lamb has to be ordered ahead, but the beef selection is on point and plentiful. Seafood, pork, chicken, deli meats. There are so many options. The shop is open, social distancing allows 4 people in the store at a time. Or you can order online for curbside pickup or delivery.

Definitely a five star review ! Trough and Sons have been around for many decades. They are the best. They are off the beaten path but still have many loyal customers. Fresh and local products.

Hands down the BEST steaks in Maryland. Super fresh and delicious meat every time we buy from them. The steaks pretty much melt in your mouth. The staff are always polite and accommodating. The size of the steaks you get for the price is almost unheard of. Never change! Thank you!

FIrst-time customer. Excellent customer service, excellent quality! I ask for a whole beef tenderloin and expected the usual, but I received a fully and perfectly trimmed piece of meat. Other customers in the store told me that I need to try the lean ground beef, which I did, another fantastic product and to top it off they have fresh meat for dog food. Love this place and will become a regular for sure.
